The current law on the regularization of arbitrary buildings is Law 4495/17 on "Control and protection of the built environment".
The settlement of arbitrary buildings is a legal procedure.
Now, for the transfer of a property, an engineer's certificate is mandatory in which the engineer must state that no arbitrary change of use has been built or installed on the property or on the independent property in question, or that it has been confirmed that the arbitrariness has been settled in the past.
The transfer or sale of property on which there are unauthorized structures or uses is not permitted, nor is the leasing of stores or businesses that require a license.
After 31 March 2022, the issuance of an electronic building identification card is also mandatory.
